Support Request: VNC connection display grey/bllank

Description

We are running SiteKiosk Online on-premises version 1.5.49.10729 and the clients are at version 1.5.139.7835.
When we try to connect via the Remote Desktop VNC connection in our SiteKiosk Online it launches the new connected machine window but it is just grey , we do not see what is actually displayed on the kiosk.
I have tried in Edge and Chrome. There is no error, although it does say novnc in the titile bar. I do have the VNC Viewer installed. When I use Firefox it gives the error "noVNC encountered an error. JSON.parse:unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the json data"

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry. There are no known issues with the VNC feature with that version. Being that you are using an On-premise Server, there may be rules preventing the use of VNC on your network. The VNC feature is by default installed with the client and viewed from the browser by port 443. Here is a communication overview between you, server and clients: https://www.sitekiosk.com/wp-content/uploads/sitekiosk-en.pdf#page=20

On the server, you can try restarting this service - Services.msc > SiteKiosk.VncRepeater. On the client, using the General Installer from Dashboard >>Downloads, uninstall the client, keeping the data and install client again. If you do not need the local user, you must install from the command line:

 "SiteKioskOnline.exe" CREATESITEKIOSKUSER=false

Otherwise, you may need to review your network tools to confirm if the use of VNC is allowed even on port 443.

Best regards,
Andre.
